How powerful should a multifunctional chopper be?

The power determines what the appliance can really handle: around 600 W for soups, purées, smoothies and baby meals, 1,000 W and above for firm ingredients and large volumes. The Turbo function provides an extra burst of power for difficult-to-blend ingredients, while models with adjustable speeds, up to 14 or 16 speeds, allow you to start slowly so the contents of the bowl are not thrown out.
